Engraving has been present in Mastarel project since its conception, as the interest in large scales and the body-work-architecture relationship constitutes a key element in Elaine Arruda's production.
Gesture, carving, material and physical resistance are imposed in the construction of the pieces as links in the gear that constitutes the installation composed of several pieces of raw wood, carved with a chainsaw by the artist.
The matrix pieces were printed on paper and fabrics, with different textures, transparencies, opacities and shapes.
